What is the purpose of the Magnuson Center Campus Ventures (MCCV) Program Platform?
- The goal of the MCCV Platform is to provide Dartmouth undergraduate and graduate students (MCCV Student Participant) a chance to be connected with a Dartmouth or Tuck student start-up venture (MCCV Venture Partners) to get valuable volunteer experience.
How did the Magnuson Center Campus Ventures Program work before this?
- In the past, the MCCV Program consisted of an in-person pitch night followed by a manual matching betweenprospective volunteers and After receiving feedback that organic connections could create better experiences than matched connections, we reimagined MCCV as an online platform where student volunteersand ventures are free to connect with each other on their own.
Can I be paid for my work?
- The MCCV platform provides student volunteer experiences only. Volunteer positions that MCCV Venture Partners list last between four to ten weeks. After the MCCV volunteer agreement ends, MCCV StudentParticipants and MCCV Venture Partners can discuss the terms of a new working relationship should they decide to
How long is the project?
- The length of a MCCV Student Participant’s commitment to the MCCV Partner with whom they are volunteering is expected to be no less than 4 weeks and no longer than 10 weeks (the length of an academic term). MCCVVenture Partners are under no obligation to maintain any sort of contact or business relationship with MCCV Student Participants after this period
What is the weekly time commitment?
- The expected weekly time commitment varies and is listed on each volunteer position. Once chosen for avolunteer position, please confirm your availability with the MCCV Venture Partner.
How can I best prepare my application to be selected?
- Think carefully about your interests and skills. What roles within the entrepreneurial community interest you?What skills do you have that will help you excel in a role? Once you identify and list your strengths and interests in your profile, the platform can recommend the volunteer positions most relevant to
What do I do if I am not chosen for a volunteer position?
- Startups will continue to join the platform and post new volunteer positions, so feel free to check back and apply to other
What if I want the pairing to continue past the MCCV project agreement?
- You can communicate with the MCCV Venture Partner after the 4-10 week MCCV student project is complete to define a new working
